Outwoods blanketed by bluebells

One of the best times of the year to visit this ancient woodland in Charnwood Forest is during spring, when it is carpeted with bluebells.

The Outwoods stand on some of the oldest exposed rocks in Britain, which support a variety of acid loving plants such as sessile oak, green ribbed sedge, heath rush and pill sedge, which are rare in Leicestershire.
