Help to grow The National Forest with FREE TREESDo you live in Coalville, Ashby, Burton or in The National Forest in Leicestershire? Do you want to help to create The National Forest? - then apply for a FREE TREE today. All you need to join is a garden, a spade and some spare time and then you can have a piece of The National Forest on your very own doorstep. For anyone living in Coalville and Ashby four different types of tree are available: Apple, Wild Cherry, Rowan and Birch. 600 trees are available on a first come first served basis and the closing date for applications is 17 November 2000. To apply telephone Joanna Ellershaw at North West Leicestershire District council on 01530 276105. This winter in Burton upon Trent a limited number of lucky residents will be able to claim up to two free trees or shrubs. The scheme is being run by East Staffordshire Borough Council and will be advertised in the Burton Mail. If you are a farmer, landowner or representative of a Parish Council or community group in North West Leicestershire you may be eligible for up to 100 FREE TREES for planting on public and private land (except gardens). You can choose from ten varieties of native tree and shrub transplants. The closing date for applications is 31 January 2001. |
