New opportunities for volunteers

Lucy Ashworth, new BTCV officer

There is now a new face in the National Forest creating opportunities for you to play a part in helping to make the Forest. Lucy Ashworth has been appointed as the first BTCV National Forest Project Officer, in a new partnership with BTCV (British Trust for Conservation Volunteers) and North West Leicestershire District Council. Lucy is working to help develop community based projects across the whole Forest - beginning in Ibstock and Ellistown.

Every Tuesday a new volunteer group is working in the Forest doing anything from hedgelaying and drystone walling to improving school grounds and hurdle making. Lucy co-ordinates the group and provides all the training, equipment and transport needed for new volunteers and people with experience.
