Directors re-appointed
The Secretary of State has re-appointed Hilary Lade, Carol Thompson and Professor David Goode to the Board of the National Forest Company. All three were originally appointed for a 3-year term of office effective from April 1998. Both Hilary and Carol have been appointed for a further 3 years to March 2004 while David has been re-appointed for one year. "I am delighted that they have been re-appointed since the breadth of experience they bring has been of immense value to the Company" said Viv Astling, Chairman of the National Forest Company. "Besides attending Board meetings they contribute to Company business in so many ways; Carol chairs the National Forest Tourism Working Group while David is Chairman of the Nature Conservation Working Group" he added. Commenting upon her re-appointment Carol said "Awareness and appreciation of the variety of benefits to be enjoyed across the Forest is rapidly increasing. As Chair of the Tourism Working Group, I would like to see The National Forest become firmly established as a quality visitor destination during my next term on the Board." |
