Top level endorsement

The Government has re-stated its whole-hearted support for The National Forest and for the body leading its creation, the National Forest Company.

The outcome of the Company's five year review was announced by the Secretary of State at the National Forest Forum.

The review concluded that the NFC, established in 1995, should continue to be responsible for delivering the Forest Strategy which is contributing strongly to the Government's sustainable development agenda.

It has also been confirmed that Viv Astling has been re-appointed as the NFC's Chairman for a further 3 years.
