Sculpture at Thornton Reservoir

One of six new bird totems installed at Thornton

Artist Martin Heron worked with members of the Millfield Day Centre in Hinckley to create six new bird totems, installed at Thornton Reservoir Visitor Centre. The participants explored the site and learned about the variety of birds and animals that are being attracted to Thornton as new trees grow and woodlands are managed. The main inspiration was the woodpecker tree standing proudly in a clearing.
