Rain Doesn't Stop Play at Conkers

Children playing in an indoor activity centre at Conkers

Conkers, the award-winning attraction about life in British woodlands, welcomed 55,800 visitors between the end of July and the beginning of September, including 3,800 educational visitors. Family visitors and schoolchildren alike were undeterred by torrential rain and chilly days, and still had a great time enjoying the range of indoor and outdoor activities, exhibits and shows.

Deanne Edwards from Conkers said "It’s been a very busy and successful summer for us – our best since we opened in April 2001. I think people really appreciate that we are an all-weather visitor centre. They love the mix of indoor and outdoor options we offer, plus opportunities to do fun physical activities and learn more about our natural environment and wildlife."

It certainly proved the right year to open the popular indoor Enchanted Forest. Children of all ages – and adults – enjoy a scrambling, bug’s eye view of a fantasy forest.
