The Birthday Walk

In 2005, a walk celebrating the National Forest Company’s 10th anniversary was produced. Covering 10 miles for 10 years, the Birthday Walk takes in 10 new woodlands in and around the Heather and Ibstock area, including Sence Valley Forest Park, Battram Wood and Heather Wood.

The route also passes through Kelham Bridge Nature Reserve. The route is waymarked with special waymarking discs inscribed “The Birthday Walk. Celebrating the First Decade” and an accompanying leaflet is available from the National Forest Company. Order a free copy:
