Byrkley Garden Centre - Gateway to a Growing Destination

Visitors to Byrkley Garden Centre will discover more than just plants, trees and shrubs as they browse, but can now explore a ‘forest in the making’. The extensive garden centre has teamed up with the National Forest Company to install facilities with information on the centre and the growing forest.

Find Your Way in the Forest with new Ordnance Survey National Forest Map

A new Ordnance Survey map has just been published which charts in full the latest developments in The National Forest, marking the increase in woodland since the previous 2005 edition of the map from 16% to nearly 18% over the 200 square miles of the Forest.

More Funds for Forest Enjoyment: A Successful Year for The National Forest Company

In a challenging year for planting new woodlands, the National Forest Company (NFC) attracted more funds than ever before to enable people to enjoy and experience the Forest, according to the Company’s latest Annual Report for the year to March 2008. “Adversity stimulated inventiveness and innovation,” said Dinah Nichols, NFC Chair. “And through our funding of a wide range of partnership projects the Company levered in over £1.2 million from external public and private sources – the highest ever.”

Another Successful Year Brings More Forest for the National Forest Company

The National Forest Company publishes its Annual Report for the year ended 31 March 2007 this week. The Report records another successful year: even in a challenging year of rising land prices the Company met all of its key objectives and created 351 hectares (over 860 acres) of new woodland throughout The National Forest.
