Running Equipment Experts At National Forest 10K

Wednesday, 11th July 2012

Mizuno, one of the leading manufacturers of sports equipment, will be bringing its Tech Truck tothe National Forest 10K on Sunday 16 September 2012.

Runners at the event will be able to have a gait analysis, gain advice on running and find out which running shoes suit their gait.  They will also be able to test-run Mizuno’s shoes during the gait analysis process.

James Russell from Mizuno said: “The tech truck provides a great opportunity for all levels of runners to have their running style assessed by trained technical representatives. Whether they are looking to change their current footwear, would like advice on whether the trainers they are wearing are suitable or just want to come along to say hello, the team at Mizuno welcome them."

To make sure they get a place at the event, race organisers are advising people to enter online now through

The 10K run, now in its third year, starts at award-winning attraction CONKERS where there will also be a 1-mile family fun run kicked off by CONKERS’ lovable mascots, the Forest Dwellers.

The 10K (6.21 mile) scenic off-road route takes runners along the former railway, the Ashby Woulds Heritage Trail, to the young woodland of Donisthorpe Woodland Park.  It follows part of the Ashby Canal, passing Moira Furnace to join the Conkers Circuit.  Cutting through mature and young woodland planted as part of The National Forest, and skirting around Albert Village Lake, the climax is the fast downhill finish to CONKERS Discovery Centre.

The event is organised by local running clubs Ivanhoe Runners, South Derbyshire Road Runners and Hermitage Harriers, in partnership with the National Forest Company, CONKERS, South Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire District Councils.

The friendly clubs welcome new members and can give new runners advice on training.  The clubs’ websites contain details on joining:
