Trees delivered to H K Wentworth

National Forest sponsor H K Wentworth Ltd has just taken delivery of 44 native broadleaf trees for staff to plant in their own gardens and at their headquarters in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, at the heart of The National Forest.

H K Wentworth supports the National Forest Company’s urban tree planting programme, which includes the free trees scheme run in conjunction with North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC).

Not wanting to miss out on the opportunity to plant in their own gardens, staff members took the opportunity to request a range of free trees including Hazel, Bird Cherry and Crab Apple.

Ron Jakeman, Managing Director of H K Wentworth, said: 'H K Wentworth Ltd is delighted to receive the trees provided by the National Forest Company and staff members have enjoyed making their selections. The specific H K Wentworth tree will be given pride of place at the front of our building for all to enjoy. We are very pleased to support the free trees and urban tree planting programme and look forward to a continuing relationship with the National Forest Company.'

NWLDC reports that thanks to the people of North West Leicestershire showing such enthusiasm for planting trees, over 18,000 garden and hedging trees have been requested by thousands of people across the district this year.

'Just when we thought we may have peaked, we’ve had the biggest demand ever. We’re delighted to be planning ahead for next year now,' said Councillor Alison Smith MBE, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for North West Leicestershire District Council.
