East Midlands Airport
Kelly McHugh and Colleen Hempson from the ground transport operation at East Midlands Airport fundraised through European Mobility Week to plant trees in The National Forest.
In order to encourage people to think about the impact of their car travel on the environment, Kelly asked colleagues to pledge cash to boost their determination to take the bus, walk or ride their bike to work.
Kelly said: "We had a fantastic morning planting trees on behalf of the employees at East Midlands Airport, with the money raised by leaving our cars at home during European Mobility Week. By finding other ways to get to work, we all saved on carbon emissions and have been able to plant trees to help make up for the times we do use the car. It was great to see so many people on site taking part and we recommend this event to everyone. Many thanks to the National Forest Company from all EMA employees!"
