Supporting The National Forest

Blue Bells

Since 1995, the National Forest Company has been leading the way in the creation of The National Forest, a beautiful wooded landscape covering 200 square miles across Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. It is the first new forest to be created on this scale in England for a thousand years.

So far, more than 8.5 million trees have been planted, over 2,200 hectares of wildlife habitats created or brought back into management, 97km of hedgerows planted and over 150 new wildlife ponds created. Forest cover has been increased from an initial 6% to 20%, linking towns, villages and open spaces and we need your support to continue to help it grow.

Your donation will help to:

  • Create new forest habitats, benefiting both wildlife and people
  • Ensure new woodlands become strong and sustainable
  • Enable more children to learn about the Forest and understand the benefits it brings
  • Help find solutions to key challenges, such as adapting to climate change and creating a low carbon economy, through cutting edge research
  • Enable people from all backgrounds to access and enjoy the Forest
