Tree Planting Events
Gifting a tree comes with a warm invitation to a tree planting experience in The National Forest.
Hundreds of families come together every year to take part in our planting events and visitors can be sure of a fun, friendly and enjoyable experience in the great outdoors!
Friends and relatives are welcome to join in and our expert foresters are always on hand to guide and assist.
What You Will Plant
Your new addition to The National Forest will be a 40-60cm sapling - the ideal size to quickly establish itself in its new home.
For the added personal touch, you can choose your sapling from a selection of species available on the day:
The Celts believed the Hazel gave one wisdom and inspiration.
Lime trees can reach impressive heights, growing up to 130ft tall! They also have appealing heart-shaped leaves and produce pretty lime flowers.
The majestic oak can live for over a 1,000 years. Their open canopy lets light through to the woodland floor, allowing bluebells and primroses to thrive.
With smooth bark and scarlet fruits, the Rowan is a handsome species. In times past, the Rowan tree was thought to protect against evil spirits.
The Silver Birch is one of most attractive species of tree in the UK with its pretty silvery-white bark and drooping branches.
Famous for its beautiful blossom, the Wild Cherry is a much admired tree with fruit that's an important food source for wildlife.
