Little Acorns Forest Schools is a new company formed in Dec 2014 and is situated at Moira Furnace Woodlands. It runs pre school stay and play sessions throughout the year on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 0930 - 1130 and 1230 - 1430.

Cost is £4 for one child or £3 per child if in a group i.e. Child minder led.

Ferrers Gallery will be celebrating Christmas with the Best of British Craftsmanship, and lots of Ferrers favourites when the three floors are transformed into a magical myriad of unique and unusal gift ideas. From ceramics, glass, textiles, painting, prints and jewellery.

Opening hours are 11-5pm Tuesday to Sunday. Entry is free. Car parking is free during the week with a nominal charge payable on the weekends.

The Gallery is located at Ferrers Centre for Arts and Crafts alongside numerous craft workshops, a deli and tea room. there are plenty of walks in the local area leaving from the centre which is located in The National Forest.




A whole host of events, fairs and festivals take place throughout the year ranging from riverside regattas to scarecrow festivals, craft shows to classical concerts and flower festivals to bonfire bonanzas. There are also theatre performances, live music, concerts, talks and guided walks, food and drink fairs and folk festivals.

Don't miss the National Forest Wood fair over the August bank holiday, the National Forest Folk festival in July, National Forest Walking Festival in May and the brilliant Agrilympics at the National Forest Adventure Farm in August.
