Commemorating the Centenary of the First World War, Battledress explores the impact of the 1914 - 18 War on Women's fashion. Drawn from the Museum's historic fashion collection the exhibition will contrast the elaborate and restricting fashions of the Edwardian period with the more practical styles that were created as a result of the War and the revolution in fashion that followed during the 1920s. Enjoy some festive fun on the farm every weekend from 29th November. FREE entry for adults when accompanied by a full paying child. Join in from 11am on Saturday 29th November as Santa makes his grand entrance to the Farm. Get into the festive spirit with a live band, plus every visitor will receive a complimentary mulled wine & mince pie, or squash and Christmas cookie for children. Every weekend over Christmas there's some magical entertainment, all included within the ticket price:

Take a festive tractor and trailor ride around the farm to spot some sneaky snowmen

Bounce on the giant Christmas pudding inflatable

The real-life nativity will be set up in the barn featuring a selection of our animals

Feed Santa's reindeers with the help of his Elves

Elf training workshops will transform your little ones into real life Santa's helpers

Enjoy the live Christmas Singalongs and Christmas Show

The National Forest Adventure Farm is open every day from 10-6, except Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Santa's grotto is an additional charge of £5 per child.




A whole host of events, fairs and festivals take place throughout the year ranging from riverside regattas to scarecrow festivals, craft shows to classical concerts and flower festivals to bonfire bonanzas. There are also theatre performances, live music, concerts, talks and guided walks, food and drink fairs and folk festivals.

Don't miss the National Forest Wood fair over the August bank holiday, the National Forest Folk festival in July, National Forest Walking Festival in May and the brilliant Agrilympics at the National Forest Adventure Farm in August.
