Taking the Plunge

Showcasing the history of men's and women's swimwear, the displays will chart the development of swimwear from the health promoting properties of sea bathing in the 1890's, to examining the changing attitudes of sunbathing in the 1920's, through to the booming swimwear industry created by the affordable package holidays that began in the 1960's and 1970's. It will also explore the fabric technologies that have helped to create modern swimwear used by both amateur and competitive swimmers.

Weekends from 24 November to 24 December 2013 Adults can visit the farm for free for our Christmas activities running at the weekends from 24 November. All child paying the full £6.75 entry price can bring a parent or grandparent in free. Santa will be taking up residence in his Grotto at the Adventure Farm. All good boys and girls will be able to visit Santa and tell him what they would like for Christmas and then choose a present from the Elves' Workshop. In the animal barn, children can take part in the Nativity and dress up as a shepherd, wise man, angel or donkey and listen to the Christmas story complete with real animals. There will also be Christmas crafts and a Christmas colouring competition. Children will also be able to write a letter to Santa and post it or give it to him themselves!
