A 1997 Tender Scheme winner for Ibstock Building Products, Sparrow Walk consists of a linear woodland adjoining properties on Pretoria Road, Ibstock with a new access created for workers at the factory. Quick growing species such as alder and birch have been planted to create an early impact. Planting has been set back from the properties on raised restored bunds to prevent future shading or maintenance problems, leaving wide grassy swards for walking and as hay meadow type areas. A wetland area is excluded from the mowing to allow it to develope naturally and colonise with wetland species.
