National Forest 10K and Family Fun Run

Both the men’s and ladies’ course records were smashed in the National Forest 10K that took place on Sunday 16 September on the trails around Conkers at the Heart of the National Forest.

The 10K (6.21 mile) scenic off-road route takes runners along the former railway, the Ashby Woulds Heritage Trail, to the young woodland of Donisthorpe Woodland Park. It follows part of the Ashby Canal, passing Moira Furnace to join the Conkers Circuit. Cutting through mature and young woodland planted as part of The National Forest, and skirting around Albert Village Lake, the climax is the fast downhill finish to Conkers Discovery Centre.

The 1-mile Fun Run uses trails within Conker's Discovery Centre and is open to children (and animal mascots) aged from 4 to 14 years old.
