Just four days left to buy 'early bird' tickets for the National Forest Wood Fair

For the first time ever, the organisers of the National Forest Wood Fair are offering an extra 'early bird' discount for visitors who buy tickets in advance but you only have until midnight on Sunday 31 May to grab one third off the gate price.

New Woodland Takes Root in Wychnor

Montgomery Wood offers visitors fantastic views across the River Trent to Wychnor, with stunning views of St Leonard's parish church. This 2.3ha (5.7 acre) wood has been created by local businessman Chris Montgomery who runs a landscaping business based in Burton. Chris bought the land a few years ago and decided to create the woodland under the National Forest Changing Landscapes Scheme to provide wildlife habitat, access and wood for fuel.

Spirits were undampened at the tenth anniversary National Forest Wood Fair

Two thousand visitors enjoyed the National Forest Wood Fair at Beacon Hill Country Park, Leicestershire, on Bank Holiday Monday. Despite the rain, spirits remained undampened and everyone enjoyed the quality wood products, lumberjack displays, chainsaw carvers, horse logging and tree climbing.

Buy advance tickets for the National Forest Wood Fair at local Tourist Information Centres

Early-bird discount tickets for the National Forest Wood Fair are on sale at Ashby de la Zouch and Swadlincote Tourist Information Centres. All tickets bought in advance attract a 20% discount on the gate prices, for this fun family day out to be held at Beacon Hill Country Park on Monday 25 August.
