Walks
The National Forest contains more than 400 new and ancient woodlands and around 90% of the woodlands created have public access, welcoming visitors to wander through the woods, explore and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Walk among a sea of snowdrops in February, a blanket of bluebells in May or through the Forest’s fiery displays of reds and golds in Autumn.
This section contains free downloadable information on 17 walks - three short walks (up to 5 miles), eight medium (5 to 10 miles) and four long walks (over 10 miles). They are all circular routes, with details of car parking and access by public transport. The walks are spread over the three counties of the Forest: Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
Short walks
