Walks Information
The Routes
The walks are of varying lengths but all pass through new and existing woodlands or sites of interest in The National Forest. Full route descriptions are given but it may also be useful to use Ordnance Survey Explorer map number 245 The National Forest.
The routes mainly follow Public Rights of Way but some use permissive paths. These are marked and may be closed at certain times. Please heed any closures or diversions.
While the leaflets give directions for a specific route through a site, most sites have open public access and so you can explore these further, either as a short detour on the walk, or why not come back at a later date and spend more time in these new woodlands?
Footwear
The walks follows several bridleways and footpaths which can be very muddy in wet conditions. Boots will be essential at these times. There are stiles to negotiate along the routes.
Waymarks
The route is waymarked with special discs with the route name and the national colours for Rights of Way. Yellow arrows show where the route is on a public or permissive footpath, blue where it is on a bridleway and red for following a Byway. The colours DO NOT represent different options on the same route so don't worry if the arrows change colour!
Country Code
Please respect the country code. Guard especially against fire and litter. Dogs will not disturb wildlife if they are on leads. Take special care when walking on or by country roads.
