Where to stay

Upper Rectory Farm Cottages, Appleby Magna

At the end of a long day exploring the National Forest’s woodlands, visitor centres, waterways and stately homes why not relax in one of our cosy village pubs, a friendly guesthouse or comfortable hotel?  Or if you have been learning how to survive outdoors or driving a tank off-road, perhaps you would prefer the camaraderie of a campsite or youth hostel or maybe the luxury of a pampering health spa to ease away those aches and pains!

Whatever your preference, you can rest assured that all of the accommodation featured on our website has been inspected and graded according to one of the national schemes run by VisitBritain and the AA.  For each property you will see the initials of the organisation that has inspected it (VB or AA), the number of stars they have been given (and any special Gold or Silver awards) together with a descriptor which tells you whether they are an hotel, guesthouse, B&B, self-catering premises, hostel, holiday park, caravan or campsite.  The more stars the higher the quality within their category.
