Salary: £46,612 to £54,320 pa plus benefits

Spanning 200 square miles of central England, the National Forest is one of the country’s most ambitious and highly regarded environmental projects. It is about so much more than trees; pioneering new ways to reconnect people and businesses with nature, and create a place to grow together. The National Forest Company has driven forward the vision for the National Forest, taking it from a leap of faith to the success story we see today: a restored forest landscape and developing visitor destination. But there is so much more to do.

Our emerging 25 year vision for the National Forest will focus on mitigation and adaptation to climate change; creating a place for a greener future, and demonstrating how a woodland environment can be the catalyst for sustainable living. To help realise this ambition we are seeking a talented and experienced Head of Land & Forestry to help shape our future. You will be responsible for developing and leading our land management strategy, as well as overseeing our forest creation activity and woodland economy support.

This role requires a land-based professional with commercial acumen who can identify and develop income generation opportunities. You will be a strategic thinker, able to influence policy and work effectively with a diverse range of partners. Bringing with you a successful track record, you will have extensive experience of operating in a complex project environment. Above all, you will share our passion for the National Forest and be motivated to make your mark with a national exemplar of sustainability.
