Experience a weekend of relaxation, wellbeing and discovery at Timber 2021

10th May 2021

There are just two months to go until we’ll be stepping into a weekend of debate, celebration, and reflection in the National Forest at Timber 2021. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, time to explore your creativity or simply enjoy the freedom of the outdoors with the whole family, there is something for everyone.

Not only will there be illuminating talks, artists, and musicians at this year’s festival, but there will also be the chance to unwind, learn new skills and take part in activities for all the family.

The wellbeing programme will offer a whole host of activities to ease yourself into the festival experience, so if you’re looking to slow down then Tai Chi and Yoga are the perfect way to stretch your body and centre your mind, or for a truly immersive experience Forest Bathing is a simple technique to help boost your wellbeing by connecting with trees and nature. You’ll join fully trained Forest Bathing guides who will support you to experience a slow, gentle walk where mindfulness invitations are offered.

Across the 3-day festival, you will also have the opportunity to gain and learn new skills, including song-writing and sing-a-long sessions with The Coal Tits, maypole dancing and the opportunity to learn circus skills, plus Woodland Survival Crafts will demonstrate a range of bushcraft techniques and Greenwood Days & Rustic Carpentry will teach green woodworking skills.

For attendees that want to embrace the restorative energies of nature and reconnect with the great outdoors, there is the opportunity to take part in a barefoot walk, tree climbing, horse logging, bug hunting and tree hugging.  The Simple Things, a beautiful monthly journal all about taking the time to live well, will also run a series of workshops over the weekend, focussing on gentle crafts, wellness and replenishment.

There are also some fantastic things for families too, including Do What Yah Mamma Told Yah, an immersive and vibrant comedy circus show, where you can expect plate spinning, food juggling, fire blazing feast of food fusion and storytelling across geography and generation. Then keep your eyes to the skies as Chris Bullzini brings his Treetop Tightrope Spectacular to Feanedock, or learn something new with Circus House Manchester at their Circus Skills workshop or give macrame a go, at To be or Knot to be.

And if you live in the National Forest then all these activities plus more are right at your fingertips, as residents will receive 25% off tickets! Capacity is limited this year, so don’t miss out on your chance to experience an illuminating line-up of talks, workshops and performances.
