Roecliffe & Breach

A very visible 74.51ha scheme on two blocks of former farmland between Ashby de la Zouch and Coalville. Situated on either sides of busy roads and adjacent to existing woodland, these two compartments of mixed conifer and broadleaves make a significant impact on the landscape.

Nature conservation is a focus of the site, with a large area of hay meadow having been created next to the road.  In addition, aseries of pools and scrapes were created along the eastern edge of Roecliffe Wood.  In Breach Wood, wet woodland consisting of willow and alder has been planted next to the neighbouring Demonaic Plantation.  Parkland-style planting next to Roecliffe Farm creates a more open feel to this part of the wood.
