Heather Scarecrow Festival

Awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the Best Outdoor Experience category of the 2018 Leicestershire Tourism and Hospitality Awards, Heather Scarecrow Festival is definitely worth a visit.  Bring the whole family, it won’t break the bank. In fact there is so much to see and do, it’s worth several visits. Throughout the village the gardens are dotted with scarecrows. Scores and Scores of them, some of celebs, some of them topical, many of them cheerfully daft, and all competing for the votes of the people who come for miles around to see them.  Refreshments are on sale, or bring a picnic. Various other activities will take place during the week.

The event will take place in the Village of Heather in the heart of the National Forest from 11 am on Sunday 28h July until 6pm on Sunday 4th August.  There will be ample free parking at Heather St John’s Football Club (LE67 2QJ) and Heather Village Hall LE67 2RE.  Admission is free and guides are available for £2.50 to help visitors find all the Scarecrows and vote for their favourite.  More details can be found on their website heatherscarecrowfestival.com. You can also find them on Facebook  and Twitter.
