Wild Minds Wellbeing Weekend

Fancy spending a whole weekend immersed in nature? Want to improve your mental health and wellbeing through nature based activities? Then we have the weekend just for you.

Join us on our first Wellbeing Weekend at Moira Furnace on 14th & 15th August 2021. Find inner peace, calm reconnect with nature. Our weekend will be held in the beautiful ancient woodland and parkland at Moira Furnace Museum and Country Park. Set in the heart of the National Forest in North West Leicestershire on the border of South Derbyshire and not far from Derby itself, this is a wonderful woodland that immediately makes you feel calm and closer to nature.

Following a timetable of relaxing nature based activities and sessions; including (but not limited to) forest bathing/Shinrin-Yoku, Meditation, Nature Walks and Stories by Moonlight; we will share our love and joy of nature with you; and show you ways to re-connect with nature to help your physical and mental health.

The total cost for the weekend is £60, this does not include accommodation or food. However, we can recommend booking accommodation at YHA National Forest which is just a 10 minute walk from Moira Furnace and provides accommodation in single gender shared dorm’s, private rooms, camping and cabins. We have also made plans with a local Bistro, Lakeside Bistro, for the evening meal on the Saturday where we can all gather to celebrate our renewed connection with nature. Again, this is just a 10 minute walk from Moira Furnace and serves amazing home cooked food. The meal will be at a set price of £20 per person for 2 courses, drinks will be in addition to this. We will confirm if you wish to book a place at the meal when we confirm your booking. There will be time on both days for lunch and there are a few places you could try, alternatively, you might want to bring a picnic to enjoy in this beautiful setting.

Spaces are limited and once we are full there will be a waiting list.

We are confident running our weekend in summer 2021 and we also intend for them to be small with more space and fully compliant with any recommended regulations. However, if we cannot run the weekend for COVID reasons you will be offered a full refund!
