Woodland Economy Grant

The Woodland Economy Grant scheme application window is now closed. 

The Woodland Economy Grant supports the development of the woodland economy in the National Forest through targeted investment. Funding is allocated through a competitive tender process that supports projects which achieve the National Forest Company's goals of ensuring future legislative compliance, increasing the volume and/or value of wood sales.

Funding is available for a wide range of woodland economy opportunities. Examples include:

  • Marketing of businesses (e.g. new website, promotional material).
  • Investment in equipment for
    • harvesting;
    • processing;
    • sales; and
    • haulage
  • Feasibility studies (e.g. biomass boilers or new technologies)
  • Business planning and strategy
  • Product development
  • Collaborative working
  • Up-skilling of staff

Businesses and organisations that operate within the National Forest area can apply. A clear business plan is required with applications to provide reasoning for the investment.
