Foxley Wood

Foxley Wood was a Tender Scheme winner for the Woodland Trust in 1995. It consists of 29ha of former farmland on the edge of Linton ,in the Mease Lowlands, which has been the focus of community activities.

The majority of trees planted are oak and ash with alder, willow and birch. Woody shrubs such as hazel are mixed throughout to create a native woodland.  An area of 1ha, designed by the local school, is set aside for educational use. This includes an all abilities path and a pond/wetland.  Two benches designed by a local artist are provided.

The site is featured on National Forest Spires & Stiles medium walk.
