Tollgate Brewery
Brewers of the National Forest Collection of craft ales and official bar provider for the annual National Forest Timber Festival.
Based in the heart of the National Forest on the National Trust’s Calke Abbey Estate, this ambitious microbrewery uses traditional brewing techniques to create fresh flavours for the contemporary real ale enthusiast. With three micro pubs and a growing list of regular event appearances, Tollgate Brewery is growing fast.
As a business they are very conscious of their local surroundings and being located in the National Forest is an important part of the Tollgate identity. Sustainability is inherent in the brewing process and so it is appropriate that all their left over hops, malt and spent yeast are distributed to the farms and gardens on the Calke Estate to be used as pig feed or compost.
Launched in July 2018, the National Forest Real Ale Collection has four bottles in the range so far; a blonde, amber, IPA and stout. Look out for the bottles on sale at The Tap in Ashby and at locations and events around the National Forest.
We are really pleased to be working with the National Forest Company, growing our business and supporting the creation and management of the Forest at the same time. The National Forest is a great project for the local area and we are looking forward to seeing how our National Forest Beer Collection develops.
