Sinai Park

A 26 ha site on a scarp overlooking Burton upon Trent and the Trent Valley.  It is a re-creation of the historic parkland setting around Sinai House, a former sanitorium for aged monks from Burton Abbey.  The woodland is planted in two parts - Shobnall Wood to the north and The Rough to the South.  Between the two, an 18th Century-style hunting park landscape has been recreated using individual crated trees and an historically accurate orchard has similarly been recreated using traditional varieties, under Countryside Stewardship.  Existing ponds have also been restored.

A permissive path links the two areas of woodland to create a circular route, named "The Friars Walk".
