Grade: Higher Executive Officer

Salary range: £30,317 to £32,803 per year (Civil Service pension and other benefits)

Hours: Full time 37 hours per week

We are looking for a talented candidate who will work with communities and external partners to help engagement and support with the maintenance, management and development of designated sites within the Heart of the National Forest (HotF) landscape, including  supporting volunteers at the Conkers visitor attraction. To ensure the sites are accessible, safe places to visit with woodland habitats that support wildlife and improve the wellbeing of surrounding communities. Providing space for people and wildlife, enhancing biodiversity and creating resilient woodlands for the long term that people can visit and enjoy.

This is a very public-facing role with a significant amount of community engagement. The post-holder will facilitate recreation and participation activities with third parties, including permissions. Responsibilities will include conducting inspections of sites, recreation facilities, developing volunteer activities, identifying and overseeing habitat improvements and ensuring high standards of health and safety.

The HotF covers approximately 10 square miles centred around the village of Moira in the National Forest. The National Forest Company (NFC) currently owns c. 248 hectares in the HotF and is working collaboratively with public, private and charitable partners to deliver the Heart of the National Forest vision.
