Catton Estate

Catton Hall, built in 1745 has a fascinating history, and still privately owned.  The grounds are available to hire for all types of public events or private groups.

There is also a 12.26ha planting scheme that consists of a number of linked compartments on the Catton Estate in South Derbyshire.  The existing mature woodland is managed for nature conservation purposes and does not have public access.  Planting consists mainly of native trees and shrubs with oak, ash and birch being the main species.  Woody shrubs such as guelder rose, holly, dog rose, spindle and elder add colour and food sources for birds and insects.

A permissive bridleway and footpath run along the edge of the road and link the compartments that have public access permitted.
