Nether Hall

A 1998 Tender Scheme winner for the Woodland Trust, Nether Hall is an 8.4ha site situated between Hartshorne and Midway, near Swadlincote.  It is one of the Woodland Trust's Woods On Your Doorstep, created to mark the Millennium.

A formal yew avenue leading from Nether Hall runs through the middle of the site and will become a distinctive landscape feature as it matures.  An existing small spinney of beech trees has been underplanted with young beech to perpetuate this woodland type.  Elsewhere, two streams border the site and a wet grassland area between the stream and Repton Road will be managed as a wet meadow to increase the biodiversity of the site.

While cycling is not permitted on the site, the Woodland Trust has provided a cycle rack for those who have cycled to the site and wish to leave their bikes as they walk around.

Nether Hall is featured in the Woodland Trust's Directory of Properties.
