Yoxmor Bank

A 12.5ha Tender Scheme winner in 1999 and in 2003 on the edge of Yoxall, Staffordshire.  Yoxmoor Bank has panoramic views to the Trent Valley and Lichfield Cathedral.

This native woodland is at a gateway to The National Forest and is very visible on the slope overlooking the A515 into Yoxall from King's Bromley.  It comprises native trees and shrubs planted on former farmland.  Oak and ash are the predominant species with field maple, wild cherry, walnut, birch, hazel and holly also included to add colour and fruit for birds.  Scots Pine on the higher points maximises landscape impact.  Nest boxes for birds and bats have been installed.

Local school children form St Peter's School in Yoxall helped to plant the Millenium Beech Grove in the north west section, and Yoxall Guides planted the oaks around the wetland.

The footpath along the eastern boundary is a new dedicated right of way.
