Gilwiskaw Valley Wood & Tempe Farm

This site comprises two adjoining Tender Schemes, created in 2006 - Gilwiskaw Valley Wood (12.08ha) and Tempe Farm (57.6ha).

The woodland within Gilwiskaw Valley Wood has been designed to incorporate a range of species to create bold blocks of seasonal colour that will stand out for the benefit of visitors, particularly those who are partially sighted.

Tempe Farm is an old site with some points of archeaological interest. A brief history can be found on the leaflet to the right. The medieval fishpond has been retained as part of this scheme.
